Respected Readers...
I hope all of us know what a goal is !!
Goals: In this situation, I dont mean the Goals in sports like Soccer, Hockey etc., .I am going to talk about the goals which I think are necessary to be set by every individual to proceed ahead in their lives.
The importance of a goal would be that, it helps us to measure ourselves in many regards like where we stand and what time it would take for us to reach that specific point which we aimed at.
Goals also serve us as a mentor, guide and as a Visionary...The goals we set for ourselves can judge us to , what kind of a person we are...
Goals are of many kinds, but here I will specify a very few basic types:
1) Achievable
2) Measurable
3) Short term
4) Long term
Before we proceed , I would like to recollect and underline one basic fact of life.
As a person we would be the best judge to know ourselves. None other than ourselves can know each of us better. We might be able to fool around with every other person in life but not self .....
"" Please dont try to fool yourselves "" - By this quote what I mean is , the goals we set should be very much achievable and one can easily know this...Going back to history , Abraham Lincoln had become the President of United states. But I can bet that even though we have such kind of people in the world, but we cannot even think of them becoming presidents anymore...
So, be realistic before you set something as your goal.
Now, as you had set a realistic goal try to measure it.. ""Measurable is Achievable""
Here what I mean is about planning, To achieve a goal, we cannot sit idle and assume we will achieve our aimed goal someday.
We should know when we will achieve the goal, what efforts are required to achieve the same and in what time.
Now, we have a realistic measurable goal. But one important thing here would be that once we have our goal in mind and proceeding towards it, we have to surpass and win over some situations on our way towards our final goal. One should be able to identify those situations, and should be able to mark them as their Sub-goals or Short term goals.
To make it simpler, suppose your final long term goal might be getting an Engineering seat in Some premier college. To achieve this Passing an examination with 90% marks is mandatory.
For you to achieve this , first you have to plan how to study and when you will be able to complete your studies.
Then only you can achieve the desired result.
In the above scenario:
Engineering seat in Some premier college: Long Term Goal
Passing with 90% : Realistic Goal
Complete Studying: Short term Goal
Planning How to study and what to study: Measuring the goal
Now what's remaining is that you have to achieve it... All the best...
Dont you think if one starts to plan and work for his goal in this way, he can achieve it.
Thats why I feel, "Proceeding without a goal is just like a blind person throwing stone at a Mango on the tree."
Don't be such fools, you can never have such a Mango...

ReplyDeleteMany times in our busy routine life we tend to forget the easier ways of doing things as we forget to, even think that there can be better ways of doing things ... which makes things look much tougher than they really are ...
That was a good one ...
